Meet Yoann
The challenge for many in starting therapy is sharing parts of themselves, especially parts that may not have been shown before. With this in mind, my focus will always be fostering and maintaining a space where you feel valued and safe to explore your feelings and thoughts.
I primarily work through the school of Carl Rogers’s Patient Centered Counselling, but I also work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, solutions focused therapy, attachment therapy, and Psychotherapy. I consider myself an eclectic practitioner and will use the approach that matches your needs.
Areas of interest
-
Due to my experience in the workforce before I pursued my passion for mental health, I have a particular interest in men’s mental health. I encountered men from a variety of backgrounds who struggled with their mental health, but hesitated to seek help.
-
Sharing our lives with others can be challenging, but for the vast majority of us, is integral to who we are and how we feel connected.
Sometimes we might feel uncomfortable talking of our relationship challenges with friends as we don’t want ourselves or others to feel judged. Counselling can be a space to work through these challenges safely and confidentially.
-
Trauma is an unfortunate reality that many of us have to contend with.
However, trauma can be explored and managed with the right support. I have an interest in trauma due to seeing the progress and achievement clients have enacted in their own lives through therapy.
